Phase IIIb & IV Studies

In order to develop the best therapeutic options, it is not enough to simply develop the most potent drug formulations. It is also important to develop the best balance of efficacy, safety, and patient quality of life. All of these factors play an important role in both drug development and treatment success, and Phase IIIb and Phase IV trials can provide valuable product claims about these factors.

Phase IIIb and Phase IV studies fall under one of two categories:

  • Attributive: This type of study is designed to test whether a drug or device creates an effect in patients relative to a placebo.
  • Competitive: This type of study is designed to test whether a drug or device creates a better effect in patients relative to another drug that is currently on the market.

Ora's fully integrated medical communications department, OraComm©, can help transform Phase IIIb and Phase IV findings into compelling Direct-To-Patient and Direct-To-Physician messaging campaigns.
